Donations

It would be impossible to deliver our services to people in crisis or distress or maintain our range of programs without ongoing donations, and at this time we are experiencing an unprecedented demand for support. We need your help now more than ever to maintain our services to the Irish and Irish Australians communities across NSW.

Whether it’s a large or small amount it will make a difference to someone in the Irish community in NSW. 100% of all donations go towards helping our clients.

We cannot thank the Irish Support Agency enough for the incredible support they gave us during a very difficult time for our family, when our son Jason was seriously injured in Sydney. A wonderful organisation ran by people we are now proud to call our friends. Thank you so much.

- Declan, Stephanie, Jason & Jamie Cierans.

All donations over $2 are tax deductible. We’ll send you a receipt for your tax return within 3 business days.

If you would prefer to make a cheque payment, please make it payable to Irish Support Agency NSW and post to PO Box K774, Haymarket, NSW 1240

WORKPLACE GIVING

Workplace Giving – sometimes referred to as payroll giving – is an easy way of supporting the Irish Support Agency. As a workplace donor, you can make a regular, pre-tax donation to the ISA directly from your pay. You simply choose a donation amount that’s right for you, and it comes out of your pay every pay cycle. Because the tax deduction on your donation happens immediately, you don’t need to worry about collecting receipts throughout the year. Your donation total is included in the annual Payment Summary your employer provides, so once it’s set up you don’t have to worry about a thing!

Why should I get involved?

  • Quick and easy to set up

  • You’re in control – change or stop anytime

  • Giving a little at a time allows you to spread out the cost

  • You’ll receive an immediate tax benefit in your pay

Are there Employer benefits?

  • It’s a great start in empowering employers to make a difference, and demonstrates your organisation’s commitment to important causes

  • Helps boost staff morale, making the business more appealing to current and future employees

  • Opens doors to future relationships and partnerships

How do I get started?

Check with your Human Resources or Finance Department to see if your employer already has a payroll/workplace giving program in place.

  • Workplace Giving Program already in place? Great – ask them to sign you up with the Pink Elephants Support Network as the recipient

  • No Workplace Giving Program in place? No problem! Head to Good2Give, and check out their easy sign up page, as well resources and calculators to find the right amount for you

Workplace giving is a program that lets you donate money on a regular basis to your chosen charity, straight from your salary. Donations are deducted before you pay tax, so most people who donate in this way see a tax benefit in their pay.

It is very simple to set up, however, your employer must have a workplace giving program  in place. Any employer who has one or more staff may start a workplace giving program.

How to leave a Gift in your will

Leaving a gift in your Will is an extraordinary way to ensure you are making a profound and continuing impact that will live on.

Your gift, will secure our ability to continue to provide life changing support to people whose lives have been affected by unspeakable crisis and distress. In 2021 , the Irish Support Agency assisted over 600 members of the community. So, by including the Irish Support Agency as a part of your legacy, your support will help us improve the outlook for many Irish Australians living in NSW.

The easiest way to include the ISA in your Will is by contacting your solicitor, when you are ready to write your Will, and providing them with our suggested wording (see below).

If you have already written a Will, it can be as easy as your solicitor adding a *codicil, instead of having to re-write your whole Will. *Codicil - a legal document used to modify or amend an existing Will. It may be identical to a Will or may act in replacement of one.

Please note: The ISA can provide information on leaving a gift in Will, however we recommend you seek legal advice when preparing your Will, to ensure that your wishes are legally met.

To help you decide what type of gift you want to leave, there are three main ways to leave a gift in your Will:

1. A Percentage – usually considered the easiest way to give, as you don’t have to amend the value of your gift to account for inflation or changes in financial circumstances. It can be a percentage of the estate or the residue.

2. A Residual Gift - Once specific gifts have been allocated and your loved ones have been cared for, the remaining estate can be gifted in your Will.

3. A Fixed Amount (pecuniary gift) – a specific amount allocated to a beneficiary in your Will.

We provide this suggested wording as a guideline for what to include in your Will. This generic passage can be adapted to include specifics if you would like:

“I bequeath to the Irish Support Agency ABN: 70880566535 of P.O. Box K774. Haymarket NSW 1240 for general purposes the sum of $__________(or portion of or residue of estate or description of property) and I declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer shall be a sufficient discharge to my Trustee.”
